Girls in Aviation Day - Winnipeg is Saturday, September 21st, 2024
An exclusive Girls in Aviation Day event for girls aged 8-17.
On Saturday September 21, 2024, Northern Spirit Chapter will host the 10th Annual Girls in Aviation Day. The event will take place at the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada at the Winnipeg Richardson International Airport.
There has never been a greater demand for skilled employees in aviation and aerospace as there is today. Manitoba has always been a hub for aviation and Winnipeg is the largest aerospace center in Western Canada, and third largest in Canada. Careers in aviation and aerospace are exciting, dynamic, and rewarding and we want our youth to know that these careers are open to everyone, despite there still being a visible gender gap.
250 girls will have an opportunity to explore the many rewarding careers in the aviation and aerospace industry. The event focuses on interactive and informative stations where the girls will meet women role models and learn about their exciting careers. The career stations will include pilots, air traffic controllers, aerospace engineers, aircraft maintenance engineers, flight attendants, aeromedical attendants, airport emergency services and Canadian Forces careers.
Registration opens September 1st.
The programming for this event has been developed for children ages 8-17. In order to include younger children, we developed a fun play-based experience for kids 7 and under. This is an annual event and younger girls will have an opportunity to attend once they reach the minimum age.
*exceptions can be made for girls in grade 3 who will be turning 8 by Dec 31, 2024.
Please note that space is limited. If you cannot attend, please cancel your ticket to allow another participant on the wait list to register. Due to capacity restrictions at the museum walk-ups will not be permitted to enter. All participants must have a ticket.
IF TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT - PLEASE REGISTER ON OUR WAITLIST
