Who We Are

We are the Winnipeg Chapter of Women in Aviation International.

Northern Spirit was founded in 2002 becoming the twelfth official Women in Aviation International chapter globally and the first official chapter in Canada.

Northern Spirit's mission is to support, encourage and promote aviation to girls and women in all facets of aviation. Our members come from all industries including aerospace, air traffic control, airport operations and airline dispatch. Members are involved in aviation both professionally and recreationally.

Our chapter meets once a month and hosts a variety of professional development seminars and guest speakers, industry tours and social-networking events. We host community events such as Girls in Aviation Day and participate in local girls groups and schools to promote aviation careers as possibilities to young girls who may have never considered aviation and aerospace as a career.
